I have been to Katowice a few times and most recently I spent Independence Day here, as well as touring the incredible mine at Tarnówskie Góry, one of the many UNESCO world heritage sites I am ticking off in Poland this year as a target. In the city of Katowice I booked into the Hotel B and B Katowice Centrum and was pleasantly surprised.
The Hotel B and B in Katowice is well located in the downtown area. On the 11th November 2018, Poland celebrated 100 years of regaining its independence. A fact that seemed odd for me as I thought It was much much older than that. However for 123 years there was no actual Poland written on the map. I arrived at the reception and was checked in by the pleasant and welcoming Sandra. The Hotel B and B in Katowice was an excellent place to stay the night and here are 5 things I particularly liked about it.
1.Clean, cosy rooms
I was in room 123 and was surprised by how clean, cosy and comfortable the room was.
The bed was especially comfortable. The shower was refreshing after a day of touring and I also had a desk and chair in the room.
2.Free Wi-Fi Throughout
The entire hotel has free WiFi. I was able to blog from my bedroom. This is always something I require in every hotel or hostel stay.
3.Superb Buffet Breakfast
The breakfast was excellent. It is served daily in the downstairs bar and dining area and is available for a surcharge.
I had a breakfast cereal, some salad, a range of meats, cheeses and egg. There are Polish kiełbasa sausages as well as bread, fruit and yoghurt. Drinkswise I had grapefruit juice and a cappuccino. It’s all you can eat and included in the room price. Check with the receptionist on the breakfast times as they can change.
4.Central Location
The Hotel B and B is well located in Katowice. It is just one minute walk from Plac Wolnosci and a few minutes from a shopping mall and the main train station.
5.Good Tourist Information
The lobby in the Hotel B and B has an abundance of leaflets for tourists. There are maps, guides, discount tickets and lots of information on attractions in and around Katowice.
The Hotel also has a bar and a safe car park for guests (for an extra 25 zlotych). The Hotel B and B is part of a chain of hotels. I would love to stay in another of their hotels sometime and I definitely recommend it.
